London Fashion Week Festival Highlights:
On Thursday 21st September Independent Leaders visited 180 The Strand for LFWF. It was our first time as a brand that we experienced the hype of the ever-changing style that we have in the UK . The styles that changes the way we look at fashion and the style which insipres us to make our brand develop into on of the world best.
We had an amazing opportunity to sit front row and watch the beautiful models rock the clothes from the current collection of Galvin. What we loved about Galvin’s collection were the materials they used. We hope to use more of these elegant styles in our future collections to expand our reach of our consumers. Our designer came along to be inspired by the variety of trends we have here in London.
As a contrast, we then watched the High-Street Brands Trend Catwalk. This gave us a quick glimpse of the current trends of the season. We could easily see those metallic colours were very popular, something that we have not included in our collections as yet. Eventually, when we relaunch our womenswear you could see a lot of this! As we have done many Pop-Up shops in the past, most recently we opened the doors up in Box-Park for the summer. It inspired us to want to join other festivals going forward.
At the moment V&A Museum is showcasing the innovation of BALENCIAGA: SHAPING FASHION AT THE V&A. During the festival, we managed to bag a space at the sought-after talk from Lesley Ellis Miller, Author of Balenciaga’s Craft: Outside In. Interestingly Lesley gave an insight into her world of following one of the longest standing and well-respected designers.
Cristóbal Balenciaga, legendary figure in fashion history known as a “Spanish designer living in Paris”. Balenciaga’s designs are always executed to the highest standard and using the dramatic use of colour. On occasion, you can see his love of Spain portrayed onto his collections, something that we, Independent Leaders, think about in every design as we always try to bring back “The Spirit of Rio” in every item.
Overall as a team, we really enjoyed our day at the festival. We came back refreshed from our experience and we were lucky enough to meet a few influencers on the way, such as the likes of Millie Mackintosh and Rosie Fortescue.
